Just City declares 'state of emergency' at 201 Poplar

Fox13 News

“The criminal justice reform nonprofit Just City has declared a "state of emergency" at 201 Poplar due to the poor conditions there. The announcement came after the jail spent days without air conditioning.

‘It’s all a function of having too many people in that jail. It’s a function of having not enough staff,’ Josh Spickler, executive director of Just City, said. “It’s a function of leadership in this community that doesn’t prioritize the safety of those people.”
